Come In Norman...Your Time Is Up

The writing has been on the icing for a couple of weeks now and poor Norman was evicted from The Great British Bake Off Tent last night. His Tarte Au Citron was 'a mess' according to Paul Hollywood, although he thought it tasted quite nice. What really let Norman down though, was the top layer of his 'Pieffel Tower'. The meringue had been flavoured with lavender which proved to be a bad decision....and the filling was a little, er... loose!

Richard escaped eviction by the tip of the pencil he keeps behind his ear, in no small part due to past triumphs, as pie week was a disaster for him too. His pear pastry pies weren't really pies at all....and the only thing his showstopper trio of pies would stop, is traffic to gawp at his burnt pastry.

Richard's 'puddle' of pear pies and below...how they should have looked!

Kate was awarded the honour of being Star Baker for the first time. Her Rhubarb and Custard Tart, along with the rest of her offerings went down very well with Mary and Paul.

So, we are half way through the competition and we are down to six bakers. Chetna, Kate, Luis, Martha, Nancy and Richard. Who's your favourite? I can't decide yet, they're all really good.
